Fact: The human eye performs to its fullest with the proper amount of light entering the eye. Too much or too little light creates a situation where the eye is strained and proper focus cannot be achieved.

To achieve perfect registration of image and focus, the eye must be perfectly relaxed. Our PILLA ZEISS VIVX lenses have been specifically formulated to provide the proper amount of light in various lighting conditions while maximizing color registration. PILLA ZEISS VIVX lenses provide unique lens technologies for full sun to low light that enhance vision better than any technology on the market. The collaboration between the Pilla and ZEISS engineering teams has produced the most defined and vibrant collection of lenses available to manage light for the athlete.

EVERY PRODUCT WE MANUFACTURE HAS TO PASS THE VISUAL INSPECTION OF A ZEISS ENGINEER.

Every lens fit to a Pilla frame geometry must pass a quality control inspection by a ZEISS engineer to be a certified. The visual inspection goal is to find any imperfection no matter how insignificant; spotting, inclusions, color nuance or differences, marks, scratches etc. are all inspected through ZEISS microscopes in the lab.

KEY POINT:
International standards do not regulate color consistency. ZEISS controls ensure consistent color filtration from lens to lens across the entire surface of the lens.

Every formulation and lens technology used in a PILLA product is an exclusive formulation.
To provide confidence you are purchasing a PILLA ZEISS VIVX product we have put a seal of authenticity on every lens. If the ZEISS “Z” is not found on the backside of either our dual lens or mask lenses, the lens is not a ZEISS lens. Period. Pilla products exceed a very stringent optical standard to carry the ZEISS name. Our products are engineered to produce the most vivid color enhancing high definition lens technologies on the market. Our optics are not certified to be perfect until a ZEISS engineer says they are perfect.

OPTICALLY PRECISE THROUGH DESIGN

Pilla design begins with sport participation. We are a company that prides itself on being fully immersed in all aspects of the sports we service. We design from experience and are lucky to have the best people in the world providing us continual feedback on our research and development.

It is important to recognize that our partnership with ZEISS is a relationship that is earned through certification of our design. Not only must the lens provide perfect optics but the frame design must marry perfectly to the lens so as not to not dilute the efficacy of the optical performance of a ZEISS lens product. Our visual equipment delivers perfection as there is no element of our product that can diminish the optical performance or it can not carry the ZEISS name.

KEY POINT:
ZEISS certification is the only certification worthy of the ZEISS name.

To evaluate our ZEISS VIVX lenses ability to resist impact from related weather damage, we subject all our lenses to a Q-UV Accelerating Weather simulator. Rain and dew are simulated through condensation at 50º C. The damaging effects of sunlight are simulated by fluorescent UV lamps (UVB 313nm) at 60ºC (140º F).

The level of damage is evaluated following 120 hours alternating between condensation and UV
cycles

THE NET RESULT:

ZEISS VIVX lenses have excellent coating durability in extreme solar or extreme weather conditions.

The use of superior coating technology adds tremendous performance to our lens science.

Test.
To pass the test, the lens must be able to withstand the blunt impact of a 500g
steel missile with a conical hardened steel tip. This missile is then dropped from
a height of over four feet directly on the lens.

ANSI Z87.1 2010, ANSI Z80.3, AS1067-2003, EN1836-2005.
With respect to ANSI Z87.1 2010 ; Pilla ZEISS VIVX lenses exceed the High Mass Test.
